SAMANTHA Cameron has hired a £53,000 aide to keep her glamorous — funded by
taxpayers.
Ex-model Rosie Lyburn, 28, organises the designer wardrobe and social diary of
PM David’s wife.
Yet she is officially Ms Cameron’s special adviser, a title usually given to
ministers’ aides.
Labour MP Jess Phillips last night blasted posh Rosie’s role as a “vanity”
appointment.
She said: “I’ve just visited my local Jobcentre, which has had a seven-year
recruitment freeze.
“When tough decisions have to be made, I’m not sure the wife of the Prime
Minister needs a special adviser.”
Rosie has modelled for fashion boutique Beulah London, one of the Duchess of
Cambridge’s favourite labels. She has also shown off her model figure in
holiday snaps posted online.
And she has impeccable Tory connections. Her grandad was late party grandee
Lord Elliott.

And lobbyist hubby Peter, 31, was the youngest Tory MSP candidate yet in

His bid failed — and was sunk again four years later when he was snapped

Ms Cameron hired Rosie after previous aide Isabel Spearman quit to set up a
brand image consultancy firm last year. Ms Spearman once worked for Ms
Cameron’s mum Lady Astor and bag designer Anya Hindmarch.
There are 92 special government advisers whose salaries of up to £140,000 cost
£8.4million a year. The PM alone has 32. Last year he was accused of
breaking a pledge to cut their numbers.
No10 would not comment on Rosie’s job last night. But she follows a long line
of high-profile female aides in UK politics.
Lifestyle guru Carole Caplin gave Tony and Cherie Blair fashion and fitness

Gaynor Cook was diary PA to ex-Labour Foreign Secretary Robin Cook before
becoming his mistress and then his wife.
And Baroness Falkender began as Labour PM Harold Wilson’s private secretary in
the 1960s, later heading his political office.
