Battered

England cricketer hours after Test draw

BOOZY cricketer Gary Ballance was carried from a nightclub after stripping
down to his waist just hours after playing for England.

The 24-year-old was allegedly overheard by clubbers saying: “I’m not a
cricketer tonight — I’m just a drunken b*****d. I’m absolutely f****d.”

Revellers said the ace had to be carried out after downing vodka and
Jagermeister shots.

The Yorkshire star was partying with England team-mates James Anderson, Joe
Root and Liam Plunkett at the Pandora’s Box nightclub in Nottingham on
Sunday.

Earlier in the day England had been held to a draw with India at the city’s
Trent Bridge ground — making it nine Tests without a win.

Ballance, who hit 71 in the first innings, is likely to start the second Test
at Lord’s today.

Last night England head coach Peter Moores said: “As the players had been
released at the end of the first Test and there were no suggestions of
impropriety, there is no need for any disciplinary action.

“I will be reminding all players of their responsibilities to uphold the best
possible image for England cricket.”
