KIM Kardashian’s best pal Jonathan Cheban has quit Celebrity Big Brother after
less than a week.
The reality star and businessman voluntarily left the house today, just six
days after the show launched, Channel 5 have confirmed.
A spokesman said: “Jonathan Cheban has decided to leave the Celebrity Big
Brother House.
“His exit will appear in tomorrow night’s show on Channel 5 at 9pm.”
During a chat in the Diary Room, Jonathan had explained he was feeling
suffocated by his experience in the house.
He said: “Right now I’m feeling a little bit edgy and claustrophobic. I’m
definitely a little bit torn on whether to stay. There’s a point when my
mental stability is more important that entertaining.
“I know Big Brother would not want me pain especially when I give 24 hour
entertainment.”
Later talking to his best friend in the house, former The Only Way Is Essex
star Gemma Collins, the bubbly blonde encouraged him to stick it out, adding
that it would help boost his UK profile.
But Jonathan responded: “It’s not that, I’m huge here. We’re [‘Keeping Up With
the Kardashians] on in 180 countries!”
He agreed to stay for another day and see if it improved, but later told a
producer in the Diary Room: “I feel like it’s closing in, there’s no room to
hide so until I get out of here I’m not going to be calm.”
Jonathan’s exit comes after his former fellow housemate Angie Bowie decided to
stay in the show after the death of her ex husband David Bowie this morning.
Former UKIP politician Winston McKenzie was the first person voted out of this
year’s series on Friday night after offending housemates and viewers alike
with homophobic comments.
