A WOMAN who rented out her £500,000 flat on Airbnb for New Year’s Eve was
horrified when the tenant threw a party for 100 people — who trashed it.
Christina McQuillan, 31, cut short her own celebrations after neighbours rang
to complain of grime music and cannabis fumes coming from her one-bed garden
apartment.
She returned to find scores of revellers pouring in and out of the building, a
couple having sex as a man looked on, floor damaged from the broken glass
and rubbish trodden in and walls damaged from furniture moved around flat to
make space for music decks.

When she tried to break up the party she was punched in the stomach by a
hooded thug. Cops have appealed for information.
Christina, who works in publishing, has used holiday rentals site Airbnb
for years to rent out the flat in Putney, South West London.
She and her boyfriend charged £128 to the tenant, who said she was going out
for the night.
Christina said: “It was horrific, I was so terrified. I’ll never forget the
sight that greeted me as I got inside, the place was a total mess.
“It would have been totally trashed if we hadn’t cut the power. The woman told
us she only wanted to sleep there. We were conned.”
Airbnb apologised and offered to pay for the damage. A spokesman said: “We
have zero tolerance for this kind of behaviour.”
A police spokesman said: “No arrests were made. Anybody with information
should call the police on 101.”
