BECKY McDonald is in tears as she says goodbye to her ex-lover Steve for the
final time in new scenes from Coronation Street.
The blonde, played by Katherine Kelly, sobs as she walks away from Steve
(Simon Gregson) after he chooses Tracy over her.
His decision comes after scheming Tracy (Kate Ford) tells him she’s pregnant
with twins following their one-night stand.
Katherine Kelly is leaving the ITV1 soap early next year and it’s thought the
love triangle between Steve, Becky and Tracy will play a big part in her
dramatic exit storyline.
These scenes, which were filmed outside The Midland Hotel in Manchester last
night, see Becky and Steve having a deep conversation before she hugs him
and walks away.
Tracy, who suspects the pair have gone to a hotel for a night of lust, is then
seen arriving outside in a taxi after an emotional Becky has left the scene.
Corrie bosses recently announced that ex-Holby City star Jeremy Sheffield will
join the cobbles as Becky’s new love interest later this year.
Katherine, 31, said she thinks soap bosses broke off the relationship between
Becky and Steve after she announced she was leaving the soap last April.
She explained: “I handed in my notice and they had to break us up! I think if
I wasn’t going, I really think that it would still go on.
“In fact, I know when Kate Ford came back, I spoke to the producer and he
said, ‘This is what is going to happen, and if you decide to stay then it
won’t break them up, and if you do decide to go then it will break them up’.”
