FAMILY holiday favourites Center Parcs opened the doors to their fifth resort
today at Woburn Forest in Bedfordshire.
The first guests were checking in today at the £250million new development
that has been 10 years in the making.
Set in 362 acres of forest the new village features Center Parcs’ largest
trademark Subtropical Swimming Paradise as well as 625 lodges, a 75-bedroom
hotel and a host of restaurants, shops and more than 100 leisure activities.
Bosses are hoping its proximity to London — just 50 minutes by train from St
Pancras — will bring a new audience to the family-friendly resort.
Martin Dalby, CEO of Center Parcs said: “There is a real buzz around the new
village and we hope that families are as excited as we are at the prospect
of a short break at Woburn Forest.
“Everything about the new village is the result of 27 years of experience and
lots of guest research into what modern families are looking for. We are
determined to offer the best short break experience for families.”
New features exclusive to Woburn Forest include ‘upside down’ lodges with
panoramic views from first floor living rooms, and The Shearing House – a
new restaurant with terrace featuring forest views.
The centre-piece Subtropical Swimming Paradise features a wave pool, Venture
Cove family play area, Lazy River, Wild Water Rapids and three exciting
water rides that are new to Woburn Forest: Tornado, Twister and Typhoon.
The clam-shape structure houses more than 6,000 tropical plants that were
rescued from areas threatened by deforestation in South East Asia.
The Aqua Sana spa is the biggest ever built by Center Parcs with six unique
spa areas and an outdoor infinity pool.
Breaks this summer start from £399 in June.
