Schofield has not left his brother’s bedside since he fell ill at the
beginning of December.
Ben Shephard and Eamonn Holmes were parachuted in to cover for him on the ITV
morning show.
However, Schofield returned to the sofa today alongside his co-host and close
friend Holly Willoughby, and said it was great to be back at work.
He tweeted: “It’s great to be back on @itvthismorning! Today @Colin_Cloud
reading minds, @philvickerytv cooking Turkey and @jollyolly with #FestiveFizz”.
He continued to praise the NHS on the show today, saying: “I should say,
my goodness me, how lucky we are with the NHS.”
