POLICE have arrested three more suspects over the deadly Boston Marathon
bombings.
City cops today announced on their Twitter feed that the three had been taken
into custody.
It was claimed by the Boston Globe newspaper that two of the new suspects were
college students and roommates of younger bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
And federal sources told The Washington Post that after the bombing the
student pals had allegedly dumped a rucksack in a landfill on behalf of the
19-year-old Chechen.
As well as the two students – from Kazakhstan – a third US citizen was also
arrested over the attack.
Police spokeswoman Cheryl Fiandaca confirmed the news but referred all other
questions to the FBI.
Three people were killed and more than 260 injured on April 15 when the twin
bombs ripped through crowds close to the finishing line.
Chechen nationals Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, and brother Dzhokhar, 19, were hunted
by US cops for the bloody attack and pictures of the pair were released by
police.
Tamerlan, 26, was killed following a lengthy gunfight with police while his
19-year-old brother was found hiding in a boat and captured after more shots
were fired. Both had lived in the US for several years.
Dzhokhar now lies in a hospital prison, accused of using a weapon of mass
destruction and facing a possible death penalty.
