RECENTLY married darts champ Michael van Gerwen has been caught setting up a sex romp with a fan in a £69-a-night hotel.
The world No1 booked the room hoping to bed young mum Stacey Owen eight months after he married his childhood sweetheart.
Dutch ace Van Gerwen, 25, texted Stacey saying: “You should come over for some nice time.”
Another said: “Better go to bed you need to be fit tomorrow haha x.”
But Stacey, 24, rejected the cheat’s advances after discovering he was married.
She said: “He is a disgrace. He needs to be exposed for what he is — a dirty rat.”
Van Gerwen began chasing Stacey after she went to his match against Phil Taylor in her home city of Bradford last month.
The star asked a security guard to get Stacey’s phone number, then began texting and suggesting they meet.
Stacey said: “I didn’t even know who he was. I am not interested in darts and had only gone along for a few drinks with family. My family teased me and said I should give my number for a laugh, which I did.”
Van Gerwen began making plans to meet up on his next visit to Yorkshire, for a Premier League Darts match in Sheffield last Thursday.
In one text he said: “We need a room, and you know what’s going to happen.”
He also bragged: “I’m gonna make you scream.”
But another message warned: “You need to promise don’t tell anyone I can be in big probs.”
When Stacey asked if he had a girlfriend, married Van Gerwen said: “Yea I do unfortunately.”
He tied the knot with hairdresser Daphne last August, but texted: “I’m always honest.”
Van Gerwen booked a flight from Amsterdam and arranged to meet Stacey at the Guide Post hotel in Bradford.
Stacey said she went to the hotel to make sure it was Van Gerwen that had been texting her.
She said: “As he got out of the taxi he looked nervous. I said, ‘Should I wait for you in the bar?’ and he nodded.
“He went for a shower and gave me his room card.”
Minutes later he texted to say “Come up”, but Stacey made her excuses and left.
Van Gerwen sent pleading texts, but she told him she had changed her mind.
The ace checked out of the hotel 28 minutes after arriving and left in another taxi.
A spokesman for Van Gerwen said: “We have been able to briefly speak to Michael. He wishes to state that he is happily married and is completely devoted to his wife.
“His focus going forward remains on his family and career.”
