ALEX Pettyfer takes his dates to the cinema – so he doesn’t have to talk to
them.
The Magic Mike hunk told The Sun that the traditional combo of “dinner
and a movie” would be his preferred first date because he’s so shy.
He said: “It sounds generic but I find it works for me.
“I’m a very awkward person and I get very nervous, so going to a cinema cuts
down on small talk.”
The 23-year-old – currently starring in romantic tale Endless Love – has
previously dated screen beauties Emma Roberts and Diana Agron, but is
currently single.
And he’s looking for a woman who makes him laugh.
He said: “I like my women to be funny, so I look for humour, and intelligence.
“But attraction is a weird thing so you might not think that someone is your
type but then you find you get on and you’re attracted to them.”
Endless Love sees the Stevenage-born actor star as David, a lad from a hard-up
single family who falls for a super-rich beauty, played by fellow Brit
Gabriella Wilde.
But her dad – played by Bruce Greenwood – is determined to split them up and
pack her off to medical college.
Alex – who was recently linked to Elvis Presley’s granddaughter
Riley Keogh, daughter of Lisa Marie Presley – no doubt woos his potential
in-laws with his British charm.
He says he never had trouble getting on with girlfriends’ folks -– even the
famous ones.
He said: “I’ve never been in the same situation as David and been given a
rough ride. I’ve always been lucky with my girlfriends’ families.
“I treat everybody the same.”
The movie sees the buff Brit – who played a stripper in Magic Mike — pulling
off his shirt in a crowd-pleasing love scene.
But he admits his love of junk food means a tough work-out before stripping
off.
He said: “I have sick obsession with pizza, fries and burgers so between
movies I get quite a paunchy tummy.
“Then, three weeks before I start a movie I run 10 miles a day.
“They don’t shoot the topless scenes too early on so it gives me time to work
off the pounds.”
Female fans could be in for more stripping from the former Stormbreaker star –
in Magic Mike two.
Channing Tatum has recently hinted that he is writing the script and Alex is
well up for learning a few more sexy routines.
“Number two is on the cards,” he says. “And I hope I’m in it. I’d love to do
the sequel.”
Endless Love, which also stars Joely Richardson, is released on Valentine’s
Day.
