Ten things we know about Jurassic World

THE first full trailer for new dinosaur film Jurassic World has been released
and it looks set to be a roar-some adventure.

In this latest title, the fourth in the Jurassic Park film series, the monster
park has finally opened to the public on Isla Nublar island where the
original thrilling film took place.

The movie was originally scheduled for release on June 13, but production
problems have it set back to summer 2015.

Below, we list ten things we know about Jurassic World.

1. Chris Pratt was destined for the main role

Hollywood hunk Chris Pratt, who stars as Owen in the movie, was filmed joking
about the idea of Steven Spielberg offering him a role in Jurassic Park five
years ago.

The then chubby star pretended that he was messaging producer Steven Spielberg
about joining the cast while filming TV show Parks and Recreation.

2. Does the movie have a message?

Just like the original film, the latest installment appears to have some
lessons for us silly humans about learning to respect nature.

The new water park scene is thought to be a not-so-thinly-veiled dig at Sea
World and the controversy around keeping killer whales in captivity.

3. An early script featured human-dinosaur hybrids

The movie has been stuck in what film makers call “development hell” for the
past ten years.

At one point the script featured deadly human-dinosaur hybrid mercenaries.

4. Heavy on the fiction, light on the science

Boffins are already unhappy at inaccuracies in the film.

Science nerds have complained about everything from the lack of feathered
dinos to the use of a crane fly instead of a mosquito in one shot.

5. Leather vests are in

Hollywood star Chris Pratt’s character Owen looks like a cross between Steve
Irwin and Indiana Jones

6. Chris Pratt has a super cool gang of velociraptors

Raptors to the rescue! Some of the monsters appear to be on our side this
time.

At the end of the trailer we see dino tamer Owen looking ridiculously cool
riding through the jungle on a motorbike alongside pack of raptors.

7. Exactly zero lessons were learnt from the last three times that dinosaurs
ate everyone

For some reason overly confident scientists are still trying to play God.

This movie’s main nemesis Diabolus Rex is a super smart hybrid dinosaur that
was created in an experiment gone wrong.

Because apparently an eight tonne T-Rex isn’t scary enough for kids these
days.

8. There are plenty of nods to the original

The park entrance is a throwback to the 1993 classic and the sexy new boss’s
white outfit also harks back to the safari getup worn by the late Richard
Attenborough in the original.

9. Dinosaurs still think children taste great

Once again kids are in danger of being gobbled up.

But lets be honest, despite the odds we all know brothers Zack and Gray will
probably both survive.

10. Lots of extras are going to get eaten

Someone has to get gobbled up while sat on the toilet again, right?
