Barfing On Ice

Gareth Thomas's high-wire horror

DANCING On Ice’s Gareth Thomas can’t stop vomiting on set – as he prepares for the flying challenge next Sunday.

The rugby legend is struggling to cope with next week’s fast routine.

In it, the ITV show’s celebrity contestants have to spin through the air and reach heights of up to 30ft while suspended above the ice with wires and a harness.

And after one rehearsal session Gareth was left feeling so ill he was forced to throw up into a bin.

Gareth, who is skating with Robin Johnstone, has now been offered anti-nausea tablets to help him.

A source said: “Gareth’s routine really pushes him next week.

“He’s been finding it tough and at one point he went so green his partner Robin had to rush off and get a big black bin on the ice for him to hurl into. It’s tough because ice skating takes a lot of energy, but he’s struggling to keep his food down.”

Gareth has been doing increasingly well. Last week on February 17, he got the third highest score out of the six remaining skaters with 29.5. Flying Week is being screened live on March 3.

Last night, lovebirds Samia Ghadie and Sylvain Longchambon were axed, after the Corrie star suffered a groin injury. The pair were pitched against Olympic boxer Luke Campbell in the skate-off for Prop Week, where stars included an object in to their routine.

All four judges voted to save Luke but Jason Gardiner told Samia she could leave with her “head held high” after getting her highest score.

Following her first performance to Roxette’s The Look, in which she incl-uded a chair, the star suffered a nasty groin injury.

After she was axed in the skate-off, host Phillip Schofield teased her over her new relationship, saying: “You’ve picked up lots of things since you’ve been here.” Samia replied that she and Sylvain “would stay in touch”.
