THE wait to find out who killed Lucy Beale is almost over.
Show bosses have confirmed that Albert Square’s biggest secret will be
revealed on February 19.
But after eight months of hints and clues, last night’s episode ruled out some
suspects – while others remain in the frame.
Here is a rundown of five residents we think may have killed Lucy.
Max Branning
EastEnders’ top lothario was Lucy’s lover and his daughter Lauren appears
paranoid about something. Does she know what her dad did?
Max’s current girlfriend Emma knows who the killer is and met them in last
night’s episode. A tense conversation with Max before she was rushed to
hospital after being hit by a car suggests something is not right between
them – and Max knows what.
Abi Branning
The bookies’ favourite was upset over Lucy getting with her old man and
breaking up with long-term boyfriend Jay seemed to change her. She had a
clear motive for getting at Lucy and something seems fishy about her
whereabouts the night Lucy was murdered.
Plus don’t forget her weird phase of stalking Lauren. Something’s definitely
not right.
Whitney Dean
Whit had a bust-up with Lucy over Lee Carter shortly before her death and was
behind the “Rot in hell” card found at Lucy’s funeral. The Beale girl
bullied Whit in the build-up to her death and that could have been the final
straw.
Jane Beale
Viewers will remember that Jane did not want to go to Lucy’s funeral, but she
seems to have slipped under the radar so far. Show writers may be planning a
big twist, and don’t forget Jane was around when Emma texted the killer in
last night’s episode and may know more than she’s letting on.
Peter Beale
Lucy’s brother – but did he commit the ultimate act of sibling revenge? It
wouldn’t be surprising after jealous Peter overheard Ian telling Lucy she
was his favourite child. He was supplying Lucy with cocaine and we know he
goes to visit Lucy’s grave with Lauren Branning in an upcoming episode. What
could it mean?
