Do you know how much sugar is in Nutella? The answer will shock you

NUTELLA is a popular choice to slather on toast or pancakes but many don’t
realise how much sugar is in the hazelnut spread.

Ferrero famously make the nut-based toast topper using hazelnuts, cocoa powder
and skim milk powder but it also has a shockingly high sugar content.

After looking at the ingredients list of a standard 400g pot of Nutella from
the Tesco website, it reveals the jar contains a staggering 227.2g of sugar.

Incredibly, sugar equates to over 56 per cent of the whole Nutella jar.

With the average sugar cube equalling about four grams each of sugar that
means every jar has the equivalent of a whopping 57 sugar cubes.

Even if you just have two tablespoons of Nutella it works out at 34 grams of
sugar, which is a massive eight-and-a-half sugar cubes.

decided to try make a healthy alternative.

The 48-year-old gave up his job as a city worker in numerous banks to embark
on his new business.

Kevin, from Halstead, Essex, has brought out a chocolate spread called Jim
Jams, which contains 83 per cent less sugar than Nutella.

cutting our sugar consumption.
