THE fund for mugging victim Alan Barnes hit £316,000 last night — enough to buy him a luxury detached home.
Donations continued to flood in for Alan, 67, who suffered a broken collar bone when he was attacked near his home.
And nearly £1,000 has been raised to say thank you to beautician Katie Cutler, who launched the fund to help Alan.
But Katie, 21, said: “This is so kind but I can’t accept anything.”
Alan is 4ft 6in, partially sighted and disabled after his mum had German measles while pregnant.
He was attacked on January 25 at his council house in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. Cops are still hunting his muggers.
With his cash, he could buy a four-bed detached home with a patio.
He said of Katie, of Gateshead: “She’s just an absolutely wonderful girl.”
