COURTNEY Love has confessed to using heroin while pregnant with Kurt Cobain’s
child.
The Hole rocker, 50, struggled with addiction throughout her life and
continued using the Class A drug even while expecting daughter Frances Bean
in 1992.
In a scene from documentary Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck, Courtney admitted:
“I used it once, then stopped. I knew she would be fine.”
Courtney previously claimed she only used heroin before she knew she was
pregnant and stopped “damn fast” once she found out.
She said: “You probably think I swig Jack Daniel’s first thing in the morning,
after I smoke my crack and don’t see my daughter for 10 days.
“My daughter knows I did drugs in my first trimester of pregnancy. She weighed
7lb 6oz when she was born and she was healthy. We are excellent parents and
I say that despite pretty much always having an edge on.”
In the film, which is the first family-authorised biography of Kurt, Courtney
says that the Nirvana frontman only wanted to “stay in their apartment, do
heroin and paint” in the run-up to his suicide in 1994.

Courtney and Frances, who is now 22, were seen together in public for the
first time in five years on Saturday at the premiere of the documentary at
Sundance Film Festival.
Their embrace on the red carpet was a far cry from when Frances successfully
petitioned to be removed from Courtney’s custody and obtained a restraining
order against her in 2009, when she was just 17.
Frances was only 19 months old when Kurt committed suicide in April 1994.
