A BOY of 14 who plotted to massacre police claimed a 15in knife was “perfect for tearing through a throat”.
Britain’s youngest terrorist, now 15, embraced his parents yesterday after being jailed for life with a minimum five-year term.
Judge Mr Justice Saunders said the teen, who cannot be named, posed a “significant risk of serious harm to the public”.
The boy, who had been groomed by IS recruiters, was arrested at his home in Blackburn, Lancs, in March after he threatened to kill four of his teachers.
Cops then discovered he and an alleged IS fanatic were plotting to massacre cops in Melbourne the following month on Anzac Day, when Australia remembers its war dead.
‘Not his fault,’ says terrorist’s mum
Manchester crown court heard he encouraged Australian Sevdet Besim, 18, who is awaiting trial, to behead police officers via encrypted messages.
When he saw a photo of Besim’s Rambo-style 15in knife he said: “Wow. That’s a weapon! The blade is perfect for tearing through throat.”
The teenager, nicknamed “The Terrorist” by classmates, also carried out web searches of possible targets in the UK, including the police station, cathedral and aerodrome in his home town.
A religious box on which he had daubed “Islamic State” was also seized from his home.
Mr Justice Saunders said: “That someone of only 14 could have become so radicalised he was prepared to carry out this role, intending and wishing that people should die, is chilling.”
The boy, who admitted inciting terrorism, will not be freed until a panel rules he is no longer a threat.
