A SMUG businessman collected his new Ferrari and Porsche on the same day – in
his new McLaren.
Paul Bailey drove his £866,000 McLaren P1 to Nottingham and hopped behind the
wheel of his new £1.7 million Ferrari LaFerrari.
He then cruised to Cambridge and swapped again – this time for his brand new
£760,000 Porsche 918 Spyder.
Speed nut Paul says Saturday was “totally amazing” when he became the
first person to own the world’s top three cars.
The environmentally-friendly supercars are exempt from the London congestion
charge and can do 90mpg.
Paul said: “I live a very surreal life and being the first to own all three
does not feel real.”
Entrepreneur Paul, who made his fortune by selling his telephone conferencing
firm for £28million in 2012, drove 35 miles from his home in Rutland to
Nottingham.
He then drove 90 miles to Cambridge while wife Selena took his McLaren home.
Paul drove his Porsche home while a driver delivered his Ferrari.
The McLaren is the rarest, with 375 built. Ferrari is manufacturing 499
LaFerraris and Porsche has sold all 918 of its 918s.
The three machines, which have only been seen together previously in car
magazines, boast a combined 2,740bhp – the equivalent of 45 entry-level Ford
Fiestas.
All three are capable of 0-62mph in less than three seconds and a top speed of
more than 200mph.
