TWO Libyan army cadets training in Britain raped a man in a park after setting out at night like “hunting dogs”, a court heard.
Their alleged victim had just drunkenly left a wedding party.
CCTV captured Moktar Ali Saad Mahmoud, 33, and Ibrahim Abugtila, 23, leading the reveller in his 20s away before they took turns to hold him down, a jury was told.
Prosecutor John Farmer told Cambridge crown court: “They behaved like two hunting dogs who had seen a wounded animal.”
The soldiers, who came to the UK in a military assistance deal with war-torn Libya, were arrested at Bassingbourn Barracks in Cambridgeshire.
They deny rape, claiming the man consented to sex.
Three of their fellow soldiers were arrested around the same time for unrelated sex offences also in Cambridge.
They are awaiting sentence after admitting their crimes.
Two thousand Libyan troops were meant to have been trained at the base to help rebuild the country in the aftermath of Colonel Gaddafi being ousted.
But the deal.
The trial continues.
