DRUG lord El Chapo’s stomach led cops to his secret hideaway after he sent out
his henchmen for tacos, it has been reported.
The 58-year-old head of the Sinaloa Cartel had evaded authorities for nearly
six months after breaking out of prison last year.
The police were tightening the net around the kingpin, aided by his contact
with Mexican actress Kate
del Castillo and Hollywood star Sean
Penn.
Following the interview cops knew they were searching for an urban area and
were familiar with the house in the town of Los Mochis which had been being
renovated for weeks.
The final piece of the puzzle was revealed when they discovered a bumper order
of tacos earlier this month.

A witness claimed: “Just two blocks away, a big order of tacos was picked
up after midnight on Jan 8 by a man driving a white van, like the one
believed to be driven by Guzman’s associates.
“Hours later, at 4.30am, the marines stormed the compound.”
The compound was raided by 17 marines backed up by 50 soldiers charged with
ensuring the escaped jailbird couldn’t slip away again.
The evasive kingpin still managed to dodge capture, through a tunnel having
also dug a decoy escape route to wrong foot those chasing him.
But El Chapo was eventually snared at a road block by a motel and taken back
to Altiplano prison from where he had previously broken out through a secret
tunnel.
The cartel leader is currently being shifted from cell to cell as he is
monitored by guards and video cameras to prevent him scarpering a fourth
time while he fights his extradition to the USA.
