A BRIT fast food fan has Mcsplashed out £69,500 to claim the only bottle of
Big Mac burger sauce to ever go on sale in the UK.
The iconic condiment was put on sale on Ebay and for a week bidders have been
putting their best offers forward.
McDonald’s decided to put the 740ml bottle on sale to raise money for its
Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) which provides free accommodation for
families when their kids are in hospital.
Steve Howells, head of marketing at the McDonald’s said: “We were overwhelmed
by the interest in our Big Mac sauce auction.
“It really captured the public’s imagination and we’re hoping to have raised
over £65,000 for RMHC which will equate to hundreds of nights’ accommodation
for families with children in hospital when the winner steps forward.”

A McDonald’s spokesman said a few bids were cast at around the £65,000 mark
but one McBig spender went big and won with bid of £69,500.
The identity and location of the winning bid have not been revealed but the
winner will receive a container of the sauce and a dispenser along with a
free voucher for a Bacon Clubhouse Burger.
The Bacon Clubhouse is the first burger apart from the Big Mac to use the
condiment for 41 years.
The RMHC has been running for 25 years in the UK and makes at least £3million
in donations a year from counter top boxes in McDonald’s restaurants.
The world famous sauce contains: Water, Rapeseed Oil, Spirit Vinegar, Gherkin,
Sugar, Modified Starch, Free Range Egg Yolk, Spices (contains Mustard),
Salt, Glucose-Fructose Syrup, Thickener (Xanthan Gum), Natural Flavourings,
Firming Agent (Calcium Chloride), Colour (Paprika Extract), Preservative
(Potassium Sorbate)
