AYDA Field shamed her hubby Robbie Williams live on air today as she revealed
the star had no idea what a cucumber looks like.
The Loose Women audience gasped as Ayda, 37, made the surprising revelation
about the father of her two children.
Sitting as a guest panellist on the ITV show, Ayda said: “The other day I
pulled out a cucumber from the fridge and he asked me what it was.”
The subject came up as the panel discussed child stars, with Ayda opening up
about husband Robbie, who has been famous since he was a teen.
She revealed the singer gained very few “life skills” when he was
growing up in the spotlight, and still struggles to identify vegetables as
an adult.
Ayd said: “I think there’s a certain romance about fame and movies and
dancing and that there’s all this glamour.
“But the reality of it is that, Rob, because he became famous at 15,
there’s a certain level of stunting that happens when you become famous at a
stage when you’re learning all these life skills.”
The brunette went on: “You know I’ve joked about him not going to the
market, or not knowing how to drive, but the other day I pulled out a
cucumber from the fridge and he asked me what it was.

“I told him it was a cucumber and he said ‘oh, I didn’t know cause I’ve
only ever seen them sliced’.
“He’s only had them in salads where they’ve already been sliced for him –
I don’t think he realised they come in a full form from the market.”
And in true Loose Women style Janet Street-Porter, 69, couldn’t resist a
further dig at the 42-year-old crooner.
She quipped: “I hope he’s not like that about other things…?”
To which Ayda hastily replied: “No! He is not!”
Born in Stoke-on-Trent Robbie hit the music scene as a teenage member of
popular boyband Take That before embarking on a solo career.
He tied the knot with American actress Ayda in 2010.
And the shaming didn’t end there.
Sherrie Hewson, 65, asked: “Does he know about hoovering and washing up?”
Ayda replied: “God no, not at all, he wouldn’t know how to change a light
bulb.”
Ayda’s revelation came as the Loose Women debated whether young children
should seek fame.
The talk linked to the Tuesday night episode of Britain’s Got Talent during
which teen dancer Jack Higgins failed to land a place in the talent show’s
final.
He was left devastated after Simon Cowell’s Star Wars act Boogie Storm were
put through instead.
Coleen said: “Last night some viewers got annoyed after Simon’s Boogie
Storm got through to the final instead of 14 year old dancer Jack Higgins.
“Now poor Jack looked very upset when he found out, but it does beg the
question – should children that young find fame?”
Both Sherrie and Coleen spoke about how performing from a young age never hurt
them.
Sherrie recalled: “I was on the stage at the age of four and my mother
was a model so I modelled with her and I sang and danced all the way up to
whatever age.
“I don’t think there was anything wrong with it – I only knew tulle and
sequins.
“The first time I went on stage and did a tap dance, I didn’t go to the
toilet becase I was so scared and I wee’d all over the stage. So you see
it’s alright, there’s no problems with me now…”
As a picture of a two-year-old Coleen singing at a working men’s club apeared
on screen, the host recalled: “We used to do maybe four, six nights a
week up and down the country.
“But it was different I guess for me because it was my whole family –
there was ten of us.
The former singer and member of The nolans added: “It was better for me
to be with the whole family and I didn’t know any different.”
