FUSSY eating is a problem that most parents have to face when raising their
children, but this creative mum believes that she’s found a solution.
Each day, caring mum-of-six Sarah Gonzales creates intricate meals for her
kids that are beautifully presented.
From dynamic Disney characters to adorable animals, Sarah posts snaps of the
artistic lunches to her Instagram page,
In an interview with , Sarah revealed that her food art obsession started when her
four-year-old daughter Valerie became uninterested in eating her lunch.
Doting mum Sarah explained that her daughter “would complain and throw temper
tantrums over everything I offered her.
“I started researching different ways to encourage her to eat better and that
is where I discovered the world of creative food!”
Sarah enjoys browsing through different food creations online for inspiration
and often plans lunches hours in advance.
The former-nurse claims that it doesn’t take her ages to serve up meals at
lunchtime, but sometimes it does take her an hour to get the plating
perfect.
She revealed: “Each lunch is different in time. The really detailed hand-cut
lunches can take an hour, whereas the simple one in which I use a sandwich
cutter can take only five minutes.
“It all depends on how much time I know I have that afternoon and how hungry
the kids are right then!”
To get the food into the shape she desires, Sarah cuts most of the pieces by
hand.
On Instagram, she said: “I free hand most of my food. Some are cut with
sandwich cutters like cutezcute and some shapes are from cookie cutters,
like circles, stars and such.”
Since Sarah started posting pictures of food art two-and-a-half years ago,
she’s managed to amass an impressive fan-base of over 15,000 followers.
On one of her most recent snaps, an Instagram user said: “I’d love to be your
child, will you adopt me?”
Sarah is also inundated with kind messages of support from commenters who
remark that her art is “beautiful” and “amazing”.
