PRINCE George got to stay up late last night – to meet President Obama and
wife Michelle.
The couple came for dinner with Kate, William and Harry.
But George, two, was allowed to go to bed late in order to say hello and
waited eagerly inside the door as all five headed in for dinner.
Princess Charlotte did not meet the Obamas as she went to bed earlier.
The couple arrived at London’s Kensington Palace at 7.15pm.
After posing for official pictures – Kate in a £325 LK Bennett dress – they
met George before he was sent off to bed.
The ‘casual dinner’ was served inside William and Kate’s 22-room apartment,
refurbished with £4.5million of taxpayers’ cash.
“Sorry about the weather,” Wills told the President. “You’ve
had a long day.”
Obama, wearing a black suit and open-necked white shirt, replied: “We’ve
enjoyed it.”

William and Kate had put out the rocking horse and a stuffed black and white
toy dog that the Obamas had given George.
Prince George was wearing pyjamas, slippers and his own personalised white
dressing gown with his name on it for the meet.
He showed Obama his rocking skills on the wooden horse the President and First
Lady had given him when he was born.
A stuffed toy dog – thought to be a replica of the Obama’s family dog Bo, a
Portuguese Water dog – was also on show.
It was another present to George from the Obamas when Princess Charlotte was
born.
After the pictures were taken by a White House photographer and Kensington
Palace staff, the two-year–old was taken to bed.
