MICHAEL McIntyre’s Big Show has been hit by controversy after just one show.
The comedian debuted his new variety show on Saturday night, but faces
accusations of fakery after a hairdresser got a ‘surprise’ opportunity to
sing with Michael Ball.
Five million people watched Welsh hairdresser Natasha John be lured to
London’s Theatre Royal by the 40-year-old, under the pretence that she was
there to work.
But the funnyman soon revealed the wannabe singer was going to duet with
Michael Ball in front of the live theatre audience.
Natasha gasped: “Oh my god. I can’t believe this, I feel like I’m in a
dream.”
Michael had previously told the audience that the hairdresser liked to sing,
but after being given a mere 30 minutes prep time before taking to the stage
to sing The Prayer, viewers started to smell a rat.
One Twitter user wrote: “I’d be interested to know how long she had to
rehearse. There’s no way she learned that in an hour.”

Another commented: “I presume production staff saw her perform it somewhere
else.”
It was later revealed by the that Natasha is no amateur, having trained with Charlotte Church’s
vocal coach as well as singing at a rugby match in Cardiff in front of 7,000
people.
She has also made CDs of her music which she sells and she performed for MPs
at a Christmas party.
Following the accusations, a show spokesperson said Natasha has “dreams
of becoming a full-time singer”.
They added: “It was great to see her have the confidence to take centre
stage and perform in front of millions of viewers on Saturday night.”
