Fury as paedo Adam Johnson is set for move to cushy jail just weeks into 6yr term

EXCLUSIVE: Ex-England ace set to dodge high security prison for one near his home

FOOTIE paedophile Adam Johnson is to be switched to a cushy jail in weeks.

The former England winger, 28, will dodge being sent to a tough Category A one
when he is moved from his holding prison.

A Category B or C jail has been lined up for the ex-Sunderland ace — caged
last month for sexual activity with a girl of 15
he groomed.

Soft cell ... HMP Holme House is a Category B jail

HMP Holme House, near his home and with its own all-weather pitch, is being
touted. Last night a source denied that the star was getting “special
treatment” — but admitted: “People will wonder whether he should be kept in
a much tougher prison given the nature of his offence.”

Johnson is temporarily being held at Armley jail in Leeds following his
six-year sentence. He had been thought destined for top security Frankland
Prison, where Soham monster Ian Huntley is banged up. The footballer’s
£1.5million home is in nearby Durham.

But Holme House is also close by and would allow him to be near his family and
ex-girlfriend Stacey Flounders, 26 — mother of his baby daughter Ayla.

Lags at the Category B prison get the opportunity to gain a “level 1” football
coaching qualification. Another possibility is Durham Prison, which is also
Category B. It has an astroturf playing field.

Last night a Prison Service spokeswoman said: “We do not comment on individual
prisoners.”

Defiant Johnson is to appeal against his conviction for sexual activity with a
child.

His sister Faye has launched a “Justice for Johnson” campaign on Facebook.
