GREAT-gran Doris Long proves an old hand at abseiling — by notching up her
highest drop aged 99.
She descended 328ft at the Spinnaker Tower, Portsmouth, and said: “It was
exhilarating. I’m having an exciting old age.”
It was the 15th abseil the great-grandmother, from nearby Hayling Island, has
completed for charity.
Doris holds the world record for being the oldest person to abseil.
She hopes to do another one in May next year, when she hits 100.
