ASTON VILLA have suspended Gabby Agbonlahor following his laughing gas and
booze binge.
The Sun exclusively revealed today that the striker was pictured partying in a
hotel room with pals — on the same day Villa were relegated from the Premier
League.
The carpet was littered with cans of legal high nitrous oxide.
Later the £60,000-a-week striker was seen downing shots and horsing around
with hangers-on at London’s Mayfair Hotel.
And Villa have acted quickly to discipline their captain pending a club
investigation.
An official statement read: “Aston Villa Football Club has today
suspended Gabby Agbonlahor pending an internal investigation.
“This is following allegations concerning his conduct at the weekend.
“There will be no further comment from the Club in relation to this
matter until the investigation has been completed.”
Agbonlahor, 29, was left out of the Villa side who
were relegated hours earlier by a 1-0 defeat to Manchester United,
because he is overweight and unfit.
The star, dubbed Flabby Gabby, is supposed to be on a personal fitness regime.
His antics on Saturday night infuriated the club’s supporters who saw them
on social media.
One said: “Just looking at it turns my stomach. It’s a real slap in the face
for Villa fans.
“If I was captain of a team that has just been relegated I’d be hiding myself
away in shame.”
Agbonlahor was previously pictured using laughing gas at a party in September.
He was photographed inhaling nitrous oxide from a balloon in a pal’s
kitchen.
Last year, West
Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino was also pictured
apparently inhaling the gas.
Abusing nitrous oxide can lead to oxygen deprivation resulting in loss of
blood pressure, fainting and even heart attacks.
It is not illegal to be in possession of nitrous oxide, also known as ‘hippy
crack’ or ‘laughing gas’, although it is prohibited from being sold in
England and Wales to under-18s if there is a risk they will inhale it.
Just two weeks ago the former England international was
spotted smoking from a shisha pipe and drinking champagne on a trip to Dubai during
the international break.
Villa were forced to carry out an internal investigation into Agbonlahor’s
antics after he was pictured apparently smoking a shisha pipe while partying
in the Middle East.
He was pictured smoking water-cooled tobacco at the Blue Marlin Ibiza beach
club, just hours before he partied at a Dubai nightclub alongside Micah
Richards and Crystal Palace duo Dwight Gayle and Fraizer Campbell.
Agbonlahor, who was allowed to travel to the United Arab Emirates during the
international break as he no longer features in the England national team’s
plans, was axed from the Villa squad pending the internal probe.
However, he was later reinstated after the club confirmed no action would be
taken against him.
In a statement, the club said: ‘Aston Villa Football Club has completed its
investigation into Gabby Agbonlahor’s trip to Dubai over the international
break. The club will be taking no further action.’

his plush £3.1million house amid reports that he was moving to join
up with Turkish Super Lig side Kayserispor.
Agbonlahor was also kicked out by his long-term partner Liz
Wheeler last September after she discovered his ex was having his baby.
