JOHN Lydon is still living up to the name of his alter ego Johnny Rotten in his latest interview.
The punk legend has blasted his Sex Pistols bandmate Sid Vicious, who died of a heroin overdose in 1979, calling him “lazy”.
When asked about Sid, Lydon said: “Sid was very, very lazy.
“He had no work ethic – he never learned anything, and by all accounts he had no aptitude for music at all.
“It’s curious why I brought him in. It must have been some kind of self-destructive element.
“But I never had any aptitude until I started. I thought, ‘That’s how it will work. You’ll find your way’.
“He got all the postures dead right – he could stare into a mirror forever.”
But when asked what he missed most about his old friend, John had kinder words.
He replied to Rolling Stone magazine: “His humour. He was very, very hilarious, sarcastic.
“He loved to imitate people. And he could really put them down on it ‘cause he was very, very good at it.
“I suppose it’s that English comedy thing that he instinctively had, but that all went sour when the drugs came in.
“The personality changed and shifted in to a selfish, drug-hunting f***er.”
